SASANIAN KINGS. Jamasp, 497-499. Drachm (Silver, 28 mm, 4.00 g, 4 h), MA (probably Mad), RY 1 = AD 497/8. G'M ('Jamasp' in Pahlawi) Draped bust of Jamasp to right, wearing mural crown with inner crescent and korymbos set on crescent; to right, small bust of Ahura Mazda. Rev. Fire altar flanked by two stylized attendants; in upper field to left, five-pointed star; in upper field to right, crescent; in field to right, MA (name of the mint in Pahlawi); in field to left, date in Pahlawi. SNS III, pl. 112, A15. A very rare mint for Jamasp. Extremely fine.
